About Chef Evans & Family

There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger, and live just a little bit better. Anyone who knows, Julie and Raymond Evans, knows that they do all three.

At the age of 16 the young Julie Wiederhold from Fayetteville Ohio walked into Lake Manor restaurant to apply for a server position and came out with a job. After graduating in 1980, after completing her degree in restaurant management from Southern Hills Vocational School, she was promoted to manager and given the responsibility of running the restaurant on her own taking charge of orders, scheduling, banking, catering and whatever might have come her way. In 1982, Julie married Ray Evans.

Raymond and Julie are now the co-owners of Lake Manor Restaurant and have been married for over 35 years. Together they have owned Lake Manor since 2001.

Chef Julie Evans was recruited to serve as the leader of the Culinary Arts program at the Southern Hills Career and Technical Center in 2013, where she once earned her own degree. In this role she works to cultivate the next generation of restaurant workers, pastry chefs, cooks, and restaurateurs through her mentorship. Come visit Julie and her students on Wednesdays throughout the school year at Chef’s Corner the restaurant housed within Southern Hills!

Julie and Raymond are also the proud parents of their daughter Teresa Evans-Moore, PhD and their son-in-law Major John “Jay” Moore, US Air Force Pilot. Teresa regularly attributes her career success to the skills that she learned as a child growing up and working at Lake Manor.

As a family, we thank you for your continued support of our restaurant and family!
